Learning Objectives
• Explain basic battery principles
• Describe types of batteries and their operating principles
• Describe battery installation techniques
• Explain AC and DC electrical theory as applied to battery
systems and solid-state rectifier and charging systems
• Identify components found in solid-state power systems
• Describe theory of operation of various circuits found in solid-state charging and uninterruptible power systems
• Describe theory of operation of solid-state inverters
• Describe a typical battery and uninterruptible power system
• Become familiar with various types of test equipment, hand tools and techniques for troubleshooting battery and uninterruptible power systems to component level

Who Should Attend
This lecture course is designed to give the student the background required to maintain storage batteries, battery chargers and direct-current to alternating-current inverters.

Requirements
Requires some knowledge of solid-state devices and circuits.
