FIBER OPTIC SPLICING AND TESTING, BASIC3.5 days 2.8 CEUs Hands-on 8:00am - 4:30pm, the final day ends at 12:00pm Tuition USD $1525 This comprehensive overview of fiber optic systems provides the student with a solid foundation on which to build and satisfies the minimum training requirements to become an FOA Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT). The course addresses all facets of fiber optic communication systems as well as the business considerations associated with fiber optic installation. The students will be introduced to installation techniques and technologies by lecture and instuctor-led exercises as well as safety requirements of working with fiber optics. The students will learn how fiber optic cable systems are designed, installed, tested and applicable ANSI/TIA/EIA standards. Each student will be registered as an FOA member and upon successful completion of the course, will become a Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) authorized by the FOA.
