MOTOR MAINTENANCE AND TESTING

4 days
3.2 CEUs
Hands-on
8:00am-4:30pm

Tuition USD $1295

Electric motors provide the means to convert electrical energy into a meaningful and measurable output. Because they are so common and critical in industrial facilities, the ability to accurately diagnose, predict and efficiently deal with electrical motor problems is essential to maintenance, engineering and operations personnel. The ability to recognize, diagnose and remedy an evolving motor problem will help prevention of unexpected catastrophic failure. An effective motor maintenance program increases productivity, reduces unnecessary downtime, maximizes electrical motor efficiency, and saves money.

Learning Objectives
• Operating principles, construction and application of AC and DC motors and generators

• Perform insulation resistance, high potential and surge comparison testing in lab

• Perform brush, commutator and maintenance procedures as well as troubleshooting in lab

Who Should Attend
Designed for electricians, technicians and maintenance personnel that are responsible for the maintenance and testing of motors and generators.

Requirements
Requires working knowledge of basic electricity. Students must wear safety toe shoes.
